Combined Federal Campaign begins at Minot Published Sept. 11, 2013 By Master Sgt. Gregory Bauman Project Coordinator MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- The 2013 Minot Air Force Base Combined Federal Campaign is scheduled to begin Sept. 16 and is expected to run through Oct. 21. This year, Team Minot's fundraising campaign goal is $157,000. Last year's goal was set at $155,000, with a total amount of $158,666 in contributions received by both military and civilians. This year we hope to do better. Established in 1961, the CFC is the world's largest and most successful workplace charity campaign, with more than 200 CFC campaigns throughout the country and internationally. Pledges made by federal civilian, postal and military donors during the campaign season supports eligible non-profit organizations that provide health and human service benefits throughout the world. This year, Team Minot has the ability to have an even greater impact on the local community. Since its inception, the federal community has donated more than $6 billion to the CFC. Contributions can be made through squadron or group representatives in cash, check or by payroll deduction. Donors may designate which charity, or charities, receive their money by filling out a pledge form. This year, Minot AFB's campaign theme is "Serving our Country, Supporting our Community." In these difficult economic times, we can provide aid, as well as a sense of hope to those who need it most. Each member of the Minot AFB family can make a difference.
