MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. --  Nonjudicial punishment, also known as an Article 15 punishment, provides commanders with an essential and prompt means of maintaining good order and discipline and promotes positive behavior changes in servicemembers without the stigma of a court-martial conviction. In March 2011, the following Minot Air Force Base servicemembers were punished under Article 15 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

1. An airman first class from the 5th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron received a reduction in rank to airman basic, with reduction below airman suspended, and a reprimand for three violations of Article 121, larceny and one violation of Article 134, receiving stolen property.

2. An airman first class from the 5th Civil Engineering Squadron received a reduction in rank to airman basic, 15 days of restriction and a reprimand for two violations of Article 92, use of spice and one violation of Article 112a, use of marijuana.

3. An airman first class from the 5th Logistics Readiness Squadron received a reduction in rank to airman, 15 days of restriction and a reprimand for one violation of Article 92, minor in consumption.

4. An airman first class from the 5th LRS received a reduction in rank to airman, 30 days restriction and a reprimand for one violation of Article 111, driving under the influence.

5. An airman first class from the 5th Maintenance Squadron received a suspended reduction in rank to airman and a reprimand for one violation of Article 92, contributing to minors.

6. An airman first class from the 5th MXS received a suspended reduction in rank to airman, 20 days of extra duty and a reprimand for one violation of Article 92, contributing to minors.

7. An airman first class from the 5th Security Forces Squadron received a suspended reduction in rank to airman and a reprimand for one violation of Article 92, failure to obey an order or regulation.

8. A senior airman from the 5th SFS received a suspended reduction in rank to airman first class and a reprimand for two violations of Article 92, failure to obey an order or regulation.

9. A senior airman from the 5th SFS received a reduction in rank to airman first class, forfeiture of $975 pay per month for two months and a reprimand for one violation of Article 111, driving under the influence.

10. An airman first class from the 5th SFS received a reduction in rank to airman and a reprimand for one violation of Article 113, sleeping on post.

11. A senior airman from the 5th SFS received a suspended reduction in rank to airman first class and a reprimand for one violation of Article 92, failure to obey an order or regulation.

12. An airman first class from the 5th SFS received a reduction in rank to airman, suspended forfeiture of $822 pay and a reprimand for one violation of Article 92, failure to obey an order or regulation.

13. An airman basic from the 5th SFS received a suspended forfeiture of $733 pay for one violation of Article 86, failure to go.

14. An airman basic from the 5th SFS received a forfeiture of $733 pay, 10 days of extra duty and a reprimand for one violation of Article 92, failure to obey an order or regulation.

15. A senior airman from the 91st Missile Security Forces Squadron received a suspended reduction in rank to airman first class, 15 days extra duty and a reprimand for one violation of Article 107, false official statement.
