MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. --  Nonjudicial punishment, also known as an Article 15 punishment, provides commanders with an essential and prompt means of maintaining good order and discipline and promotes positive behavior changes in service members without the stigma of a court-martial conviction. In November, the following Minot AFB service members were punished under Article 15 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice:

RANK, UNIT, PUNISHMENT, OFFENSE

1. A staff sergeant from the 5th Civil Engineering Squadron received a reduction in rank to senior airman and a reprimand for three violations of Article 86, absent without leave and one violation of Article 92, failure to obey lawful order.

2. An airman first class from the 5th Logistics Readiness Squadron received a suspended reduction in rank to airman for one violation of Article 86, absent from place of duty and one violation of Article 92, dereliction of duty.

3. An airman first class from the 5th Medical Operations Squadron received a reduction in rank to airman and a reprimand for one violation of Article 92, dereliction of duty and one violation of Article 107, false official statement.

4. A staff sergeant from the 5th Security Forces Squadron received a reduction in rank to senior airman, forfeiture of $1162.00 pay and a reprimand for one violation Article 107, false official statement and one violation of Article 134, impede an investigation.

5. A senior airman from the 5th SFS received a reduction in rank to airman first class, suspended forfeiture of $975.00 pay, 15 days restriction and a reprimand for one violation of Article 134, child endangerment.

6. An airman first class from the 5th SFS received a reduction in rank to airman, forfeiture of $250.00 pay and a reprimand for one violation of Article 92, dereliction of duty.

7. An airman first class from the 5th SFS received a reduction in rank to airman, suspended forfeiture of $822.00 pay and a reprimand for two violations of Article 86, absent without leave, two violations of Article 92, dereliction of duty and one violation of Article 107, false official statement.

8. An airman from the 5th SFS received a reduction in rank to airman basic, forfeiture of $733.00 pay and a reprimand for one violation of Article 92, dereliction of duty and one violation of Article 113, misbehavior of a sentinel.

9. A senior airman from the 17th Munitions Squadron received a reduction in rank to airman first class and a reprimand for one violation of Article 86, absent without leave and one violation of Article 92, failure to obey a lawful order.

10. An airman from the 91st Missile Security Forces Squadron received a reduction in rank to airman basic, suspended forfeiture of $733.00 pay per two months, 30 days restriction and a reprimand for one violation of Article 86, absent without leave and one violation of Article 111, driving under the influence.

11. A first lieutenant from the 91st Security Forces Group received a forfeiture of $1,826.00 pay per month for two months and a reprimand for one violation of Article 107, false official statement and one violation of Article 134, fraternize with an enlisted person.

12. A technical sergeant from the 91st SFG received a suspended reduction in rank to staff sergeant, forfeiture of $1,482.00 pay per month for two months and a reprimand for two violations of Article 92, dereliction of duty, and one violation of Article 107, false official statement.

13. An airman first class from the 791st Missile Security Forces Squadron received a reduction in rank to airman, suspended forfeiture of $822.00 pay, 21 days extra duty for one violation of Article 92, dereliction of duty.
