    As a result of their exceptional service and outstanding performance, the 5th Bomb Wing was announced as one of five winners of the 2019 Omaha Trophy. U.S. Navy Adm. Charles Richard, commander of U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), announced the winners last week on September 21, 2020.
  • 91st Missile Wing awarded the 2019 Omaha Trophy for the ICBM category

    The 91st Missile Wing, through their extraordinary and exemplary support of the U.S. Strategic Command’s (USSTRATCOM) strategic deterrence mission, has been awarded the 2019 Omaha Trophy for the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) category. The Rough Riders were announced as one of five winners by U.S. Navy Adm. Charles Richard, commander of USSTRATCOM.
  • Maj. Gen. Lutton Quality of Life visit

    Maj. Gen. Mike Lutton, 20th Air Force commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Charlie Orf , 20th Air Force command chief, visited Minot Air Force Base, Sep. 29 - Oct. 2, 2020. From June 2014 to June 2016, Maj. Gen. Lutton was the 91st Missile Wing commander. He made some significant changes to the base and once again visited his old stomping grounds.
  • Bomber Barons return from Bomber Task Force Europe

    U.S. Air Force B-52 Stratofortress strategic bombers and Airmen from the 5th Bomb Wing, Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota, operating out of RAF Fairford, England, returned home on Sep. 28, 2020.
  • Ground Based Strategic Deterrent Environmental Impact Statement

    The United States Air Force is issuing this notice to advise the public of its intent to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement for the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent basing action and Minuteman III demilitarization at F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyoming; Malmstrom AFB, Montana; and Minot AFB, North Dakota.

  • Lost But Never Forgotten

    On Sep. 17-18, 2020, Team Minot Airmen from the 5th Bomb Wing and 91st Missile Wing participated in the annual POW/MIA 24-hour Recognition run and retreat. Starting from the main gate and finishing at the base track, the first part of the run consisted of a “Lone Runner” carrying a POW/MIA flag escorted by motorcycles. Upon arrival at the track, names of those who were prisoners of war or missing in action were read as the “Lone Runner” handed the POW/MIA flag to the next volunteer and started the first 30-minute interval of the day.

  • AFSVC launches pilot program for online food ordering at NAF operations

    As part of the Air Force Services Center’s enterprise-wide E-commerce initiative, the Nonappropriated Fund Food and Beverage Branch is launching a pilot program bringing online food ordering and pick-up to NAF food operations. Air Force Global Strike Command installations are the first onboard to test the online food ordering system.
