Congratulations to Senior Airman Brandon Michael, 5th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, for epitomizing the 5th Bomb Wing commander’s vision of mission ownership and earning the 5th BW “Own it” award. During the month of April, Airman Michael executed 22 mission capable requisitions worth $500,000. His logistical expertise and rapid response proved key to the Wing’s 99 flown sorties and 737 flying hours, fulfilling an astounding 96 percent of all scheduled flights. Moreover, he revitalized the Repair Cycle program by turning in 258 repairable assets valued at $9 million. His efforts cut the average turnaround time to just 4 days, shattering the Global Strike Command’s 10-day standard. Finally, he aligned the squadron’s $205,000 bench stock account with projected usage levels sustaining a 98 percent fill rate and drastically reducing flight line response time from 30 minutes to only 5 minutes. Airman Michael clearly supports the 5 BW mission by providing decentralized supply support to all flight line agencies and embracing the “Own It’ mindset.
