The 5th Operations Support Squadron’s Aircrew Flight Equipment Flight is the focal point for all 5th Bomb Wing B-52 aviator life sustaining equipment. Comprised of two sections, Aircraft Support and Aircrew Support, AFE is directly responsible for maintaining and inspecting all flyers’ helmets, night vision devices, nuclear flash blindness protection, chemical ensembles, anti-exposure suits, life rafts, life preservers, aircraft-installed parachutes, and survival kits. In addition, AFE provides B-52 aviators initial/recurring Equipment Familiarization and Aircrew Chemical Decontamination Training to sustain mission readiness and flight currency. AFE has proudly merged two mottos: “Your Life is Our Business & Last to Let You Down!”
