MINOT AIR FORE BASE, N.D. – The Air Force Office of Special Investigations Detachment 813, a tenant unit, holds a challenging position on Minot AFB and within the surrounding communities. AFOSI Detachment 813 provides services to both the 5th Bomb Wing and 91st Missile Wing. They are charged by AFOSI/CC to identify, exploit and neutralize criminal, terrorist and intelligence threats to the U.S. Air Force, Department of Defense and U.S. Government. Their area of responsibility includes 2/3 of North Dakota, Saskatchewan Province and 1/3 of Manitoba Province in Canada. Additionally, AFOSI Detachment 813 has a unique mission, only shared by two other locations, with their support to the 91st Missile Wing by providing Federal Law Enforcement support to convoy operations and engaging with Federal, State, Local, and Tribal partners on a daily basis within nine counties and more than 8,500 square miles.
