The Minot Air Force Base Top-3 would like to recognize Airman 1st Class Nickolas Johnson, 791st Missile Security Forces Squadron Response Force Leader, for his commitment to the Minot Team.  His display of professionalism and excellence went above and beyond while supporting the 5th Bomb Wing and 91st Missile Wing missions. Airman Johnson led his MK-19 and M-240B fire teams during 300 hours of penetrated site and open launcher security in support of maintenance operations, meeting the President of the United States’ intent of a “Safe, Secure, and Effective” nuclear weapons. Additionally, he was crucial to the first ever 219th Air National Guard SFS Nuclear Weapon Recapture/Recovery Wing Exercise. He was quickly able to integrate with the only certified Nuclear Air Guard Security Forces unit in the Air Force with his M-240B mobile fire team, which was instrumental providing superior fire power for assault forces and was lauded by the Adjutant General of North Dakota. Airman Johnson was also recognized and “coined” by the 20th Air Force Command Chief for his demonstration of SF duties to the Headquarters Air Force A4/6 team. He also completed two Department of Homeland Security Active Shooter courses and was awarded six continued education units. Airman Johnson was also a squadron representative for the Horn of Africa school supplies donations project.  The base was able to contribute over 100 pounds of school supplies to those in need in the Horn of Africa Area of Responsibility and was awarded a certificate of appreciation from the 768th Expeditionary Air Base Squadron Commander. His leadership resulted with him being awarded senior airman below-the-zone.  Airman Johnson is truly an asset to our squadron, Minot AFB and the Air Force.
