While social media posts and some news outlets may make it harder to keep up with what is fact or fiction, the science is clear … approved COVID-19 vaccines work.
  • Defender Memorial Wall

    The 91st Security Forces Group, 5th Maintenance Squadron, 5th Force Support Squadron and 5th Security Forces Squadron collaborated to create a memorial wall of the 14 security forces Airmen who have fallen in the line of duty since the tragedy of Sep. 11, 2001. The memorial wall is a key component in preserving the memory of the Security Forces Airmen who have given their lives for the United States of America.
  • Warbird Airmen return from historic deployment

    During the week of Sept. 17, 2021, six B-52H Stratofortresses and approximately 300 personnel assigned to the 5th Bomb Wing returned from Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, ending a six-month deployment supporting U.S. Central Command mission requirements. The aircraft and personnel formed the 23rd Expeditionary Bomb Squadron while attached to the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing, which is listed as the largest expeditionary wing in the world, and flew over 240 combat sorties over the course of more than 3,100 combat-flight hours.

    Even in the most difficult of times, life has a way of teaching important lessons that can change the course of someone’s life. Just ask Retired Army Capt. Chad Fleming, one of the few amputees to redeploy (five times) even after a life-changing loss. Fleming, who is on tour across America with Team Never Quit, recently visited Minot Air Force Base to share his story of loss, resilience, and camaraderie to inspire Team Minot.

  • September Diaper Drive Almost Doubles Down

    With a goal of 10,000 diapers to be collected in the month of September, SSgt Andrea Payne hit the ground running with a challenge to all Minot Air Force Base squadrons to “get on board” with a grand prize of a Papa John’s pizza party on the line for the winning squadron. Her message was obviously well received as her September Diaper Drive collected 17,200 diapers and 7,000 wipes, almost twice as many as her original goal.

    Security forces Airmen from the 90th Missile Wing here and 91st MW at Minot AFB, N.D., each participated in week-long iterations of exercise Road Warrior at Camp Guernsey from Aug. 9-20.
  • PRESS RELEASE: Minot AFB kicks off Suicide Prevention Month Efforts

    Minot Air Force Base is joining the Department of Defense (DOD) in promoting Suicide Prevention Month to educate the military community about suicide prevention, resources, and steps everyone can take to protect one another against suicide. Each September, the DOD observes Suicide Prevention Month to promote prevention resources across military communities and share ways to take simple action to be there for others and themselves.

    The current events in Afghanistan have sent shockwaves and heartbreak throughout the military community as men and women from every branch are being called to action. One spouse decided to light a fire in the hearts of the people at Minot Air Force Base and spark a show of solidarity for those service members and their families.
