  • 5th MXS pneudraulics Airmen work well under pressure

    The Minot Air Force Base 5th Maintenance Squadron aircraft hydraulic systems section is responsible for inspecting and maintaining all the base’s B-52H Stratofortress hydraulic systems. These Airmen maintain all fluid, air or gas-pressured devices on the B-52H Stratofortress. Pneudraulics maintainers also ensure aircraft hydraulic and pneumatic systems are always working properly.   • Northern Neighbors Day Air and Space Show 2018

    Northern Neighbors Day Air and Space Show 2018 took place Saturday August 4th at Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota. With static aircraft displays, aeronautical acrobatics and a full show from the Air Force Thunderbirds, there was something for everyone to enjoy. When all was said and done, more than 17,000 people made their way through the gates to enjoy what is being called the largest ever open house and Airshow at Minot AFB.

  • 5th Maintenance Squadron: Structurally Sound

    The 5th Maintenance Squadron aircraft structural maintenance shop is responsible for repairing damage and wear to B-52H Stratofortresses at Minot Air Force Base, N.D. Structural maintenance also provides equipment maintenance and special support for the Minuteman III missiles and UH-1N Iroquois helicopters.
  • Crews control

    The sun peaks over the horizon to reveal the icy minefield known as the flight line. Airmen are bundled from head to toe in thermal underwear, thick coveralls, gloves and multiple headgear, but these comforting layers don’t keep them from getting the job done.
  • Metals Tech keeps equipment in check

    The 5th Maintenance Squadron metals technology section designs, welds, and manufactures tools for assemblies and components essential to the Minot Air Force Base mission. The welding shop supports both the 5th Bomb Wing and 91st Missile Wing by designing and creating parts for aircraft systems and support equipment.
