Own It Award for 5th CPTS Published July 25, 2016 By Air Force Airman 1st Class Christian Sullivan Minot Air Force Base Public Affairs MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- Tech. Sgt. Janene Garza, 5th Comptroller Squadron budget analyst, epitomizes the 5th Bomb Wing commander’s vision of mission ownership. Exhibiting excellence Garza expertly managed the 5th Medical Group’s $9.3 million budget during a period where the medical group resource advisor position remained vacant for over 100 consecutive days. She selflessly devoted over 200 hours assisting with the resource advisor duties while balancing her own responsibilities as the budget analyst for four other wing agencies, the funds control officer for the 5th BW, and the sole trainer for five new finance personnel and resource advisors. Additionally, she was indispensable in ensuring the on-time completion of the 5th MDGs financial audit by dedicating four off-duty hours certifying funds transaction accuracy and meeting the 48-hour Air Force Surgeon General suspense. Garza’s unwavering commitment to the installation’s diverse missions demonstrate how she “Owns It” every day. (U.S. Air Force photos/Airman 1st Class Christian Sullivan)
