Minot Air Force Base’s Air Traffic Control Tower provides support to the 5th Bomb Wing and 91st Missile Wing by providing safe, orderly and expeditious flow of aircraft at the base and surrounding airspace. They are responsible for controlling $1.5 billion worth in aircraft assigned to the base and operate in a state-of-the-art ATC which was built in 2013. The controller's number one priority is to separate aircraft and issue safety alerts to all operators within the base’s local airspace. In addition to controlling aircraft and airspace, they monitor and provide critical access to the runway and other controlled movement areas on the flightline.
