911 Emergency Calls

Recently there have been several 911 Emergencies that were called in on lines other than emergency phone lines. This has resulted in delays of Emergency Responders getting to indents and to accident victims.

When the 911 Emergency System is properly used at Minot AFB, the Fire Emergency Services Flight, Security Forces Squadron and Medical Squadron's emergency dispatch centers are all notified at the same time.

Depending on what the emergency is will dictate which agency responds to that particular incident. One, two or all three may respond as the nature of the incident dictates.

All emergencies called in over normal administration phone lines, phones starting with 723-XXXX, should dial 911. Phones starting with 727-XXXX should dial 727-1911.

Cell phone users with a 701 area code should also dial 727-1911. If your cell phone has other than a 701 area code, dial 701-727-1911.

Our ultimate goal is to quickly and safely respond to every 911 Emergency. Dialing other than the numbers given above slows down the 911 Emergency process and could result in a significant delay in response that could prolong rescue, treatment, or assistance.
