AFA Banquet Published March 18, 2014 By Minot Air Force Base Protocol Minot Air Force Base Protocol MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- The 33rd annual Air Force Association Banquet will kick off at 6 p.m., April 17, at the Jimmy Doolittle Center on base. Following the meal, Commanders Choice awards will be presented, one to each squadron, group and wing staff to honor individuals, duty sections or teams selected by those commanders. Commanders should submit their recommendations no later than March 25. Continuing the tradition of total community involvement, the AFA chapter will again honor a member of the Civil Air Patrol, Junior ROTC, the recruiting service and a teacher of the year. Area high school graduates earning military academy nominations or ROTC scholarships will also be recognized at the banquet. The event, sponsored by Minot's General David C. Jones, Chapter 135 of the Air Force Association, is the chapter's biggest event of the year. For more information, please contact Master Sgt.
