PRESS ADVISORY: Top Air Force leaders to convene at Minot AFB Published Feb. 20, 2015 By MINOT AIR FORCE BASE OFFICE OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS MINOT AIR FORCE BASE OFFICE OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- Secretary of the Air Force Deborah Lee James and Chief of Staff of the Air Force Gen. Mark Welsh plan to join the service's top generals at a meeting of the Nuclear Oversight Board on Minot Air Force Base, ND, next week. There will be a press event with Secretary James at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20. The Nuclear Oversight Board is comprised of several senior Air Force leaders and meets quarterly, historically in Washington, D.C., to discuss the challenges, progress, and future of the nuclear enterprise. This quarter's Nuclear Oversight Board is convening at Minot AFB in order to give Air Force leaders first-hand exposure to the bomber and ICBM missions, and to the unique environmental challenges Airmen face in the northern tier bases. The board will mark Secretary James' fourth visit to Minot AFB in the past year.
