Three 91st Missile Wing members from Minot Air Force Base, N.D., recently won Air Force level awards.

According to officials, these Department of Defense awards are given for excellence and superiority in the work place.

According to the award citation, Master Sgt. Joseph Anderson, 791st Missile Security Forces Squadron Noncommissioned Officer in   charge of the Convoy Response Force, won the Nuclear Deterrence Operations Award for 2014. Anderson's expert leadership proved essential as he organized, trained and equipped defenders for 35 nuclear convoys. Anderson also safeguarded $3.3 billion in nuclear assets, interviewed 124 Airmen, three wings and briefed 920 issues to the Air Force Global Strike Command Commander. His findings drove $140 million in equipment and quality of life upgrades. Anderson led four 17-man team responses during the 2014 Nuclear Surety Inspection.

"This award speaks volumes and is a reflection of the hard-working Airmen and NCOs in the Tactical Response Force," Anderson said. "They have made my job too easy."

In addition, 1st Lt. Victoria Fort, 741st Missile Squadron Combat Crew Commander Instructor won the 2014 Nuclear and Missile Operations Award. She was recognized as best crew, best weapon system and best operations at the 2014 Global Strike Challenge, and directly contributed to Best Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Wing honors. Fort delivered 472 hours of missile procedures simulator and classroom training enabling Qualification 1 ratings for 82 operations group crew members.

"I consider it a great honor," Fort said. "I have to give credit to everyone in the 91st Missile Wing that I have worked with, especially to those who took the time to mentor me along the way."

Finally, flight security controller from the 91st Missile Security Forces Squadron, Senior Airman Francesca Jackson won the 2014 Nuclear Deterrence Operations Airman of the Year Award. Jackson guided eight members through initial standardization evaluations resulting in a 99 percent average score; she represented the unit while discussing the Force Improvement Program with the 20th Air Force Commander.  Jackson also responded to 143 security situations and launch facility checks to the continued operational status of US Strategic Command assets.

"After receiving the award, I was overwhelmed," Jackson said. "I do what I'm told, I try to volunteer as much as I can and do my job the very best I can."
