A reunion was held for past and present Minot firefighters at Minot Air Force Base, N.D., June 26, 2015.

Numerous tours and events were scheduled during the reunion to show off what Minot fireman do in today's Air Force.

Jim Clifford, retired Minot fire chief, scheduled the event to honor former firefighters and to show them what Minot fireman can do now after all these years.

Clifford said he has had the idea for quite some time. He got the idea from a friend, who is also a former Minot firefighter, to have a reunion for everyone that worked there. Last fall was when he finally decided to "just do it."

"There's going to be donuts from 9-10a.m., and then at 10 a.m. we'll have an opening message from the Mission Support Group Commander, Colonel Collins, then we'll also have Chief Eidenschink speak a little bit about his fire station, then we're going to have a tour of the fire station, where we will then have a barbecue," Clifford said. "Then we're going to go out to the fire training area where most of the guys coming back will be new to them. Once we're done with that we're going to do a little tour of the base."

Other events not mentioned above was a tour and demonstration of updated fire department suppression operations at the local burn pit where the fire department does controlled live fire burns. Included will be is a B-52H Stratofortress walk around tour.

Clifford, among others, are excited for the first firefighter's reunion on base.

"I can't wait to have this," Clifford said. "It's going to be so much fun!"
