Ongoing renovations continue at the McAdoo Sports and Fitness Center at Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota.

Approximately $950,000 is being spent on the remodeling project which began June 15 with an estimated completion date of Sept 15.

"Currently, the whole facility including the indoor pool area is being painted to provide a more appealing atmosphere," said Staff Sgt. Corey Day, 5th Force Support Squadron front desk operations NCO in charge. "I think it's a much needed project and upgrade."

In addition to a fresh coat of paint, fitness center patrons will also enjoy new carpet throughout the facility, a resurfaced basketball court, aerobic floor, updated pool area and all new workout area floors.

The remodel was undertaken as a way to improve the quality of life for gym patrons and the look of the facility, Day said.

"I think it's a much needed project and upgrade," Day added. "It brings new life back to the fitness center; gives it a more appealing look and brings a smile to our customer's faces."

The renovations also help to boost the morale of team Minot and bolster the fitness pillar of resiliency, Day said.

Many of the improvements being undertaken were compiled using direct customer feedback. The fitness center is working to keep the needs and ideas of their patrons in mind throughout the process.

"It is important to provide customers with excellent service," Day said. "We want to show them their suggestions mean something to us and let them know we actually put them into action."
