Show your breast cancer support Published Sept. 22, 2015 By Senior Master Sgt. Jodi Flugel Minot Air Force Base Airman Leadership School MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- Three years ago, the National Football League created their "A Crucial Catch" campaign. The NFL partners with the American Cancer Society to educate women on the importance of breast cancer screening and provides free or low-cost screenings to eligible women. We've all seen NFL players wearing bright pink gear on the field during the month of October, and the gear is auctioned off in an effort to raise funds for the campaign. This year, Team Minot will follow in the NFL's footsteps and wear pink every Friday in October! Col Jason Armagost, 5th Bomb Wing commander and Col Michael Lutton, 91st Missile Wing commander, have authorized all members to wear the 5th Medical Group Breast Cancer Awareness Committee's, "Hope is my Superpower" pink t-shirt in place of squadron morale shirts during October. Shirts cost $10 each and the sale proceeds will be donated through the Combined Federal Campaign to breast cancer research. Airmen can get their shirt at the 5th MDG Clinic's Referral Management Office (first floor) any day, or at the Base Exchange September 28 through October 2 from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. For more information please call Senior Master Sgt. Jodi Flugel at 723-4429 or Sandy Hutchens at 723-5576.
