Tower ensures safety of Minot skies Published April 11, 2016 By Airman 1st Class Jessica Weissman Minot Air Force Base Public Affairs MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- 5th Operations Support Squadron Airmen from the Air Traffic Control tower at Minot Air Force Base, N.D., have the primary responsibility of supporting the nuclear mission through separation of aircraft and providing expeditious service to Team Minot. In real-world situations, controllers communicate with aircraft, weather, command post and air field management.
