Northern Neighbors Day logo/poster contest starts Published Feb. 1, 2007 MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- Today marks the start of the annual Northern Neighbors Day logo/poster contest. Northern Neighbors Day, the base's annual open house and air show, is scheduled for Sept 8. In tribute to Air Force history, this year's theme is "60th Air Force Anniversary." Highlighting this special theme, the U. S. Air Force's premiere aerial demonstration team, the Thunderbirds, will perform during Northern Neighbors Day. All active duty and Reserve, Department of Defense civilians, and family members have the opportunity to be part of the event by designing the Northern Neighbors Day logo and event poster. All entries will be judged by a selected panel from the 5th Bomb Wing and 91st Space Wing. The winning entry will be highlighted as the cover of the special air-show supplement, recognized at the start of the event and receive $25 Darby Dollars from the 5th Services Squadron. Both the poster and the logo must have the following information and elements represented: -- Sept 8, 2007 -- Northern Neighbors Day -- Minot Air Force Base -- 60 years of air and space power Also, the poster must have the following additional elements: -- Thunderbirds aerial demonstration team -- B-52 Stratofortress -- Minuteman III Both the logo and the poster should be submitted in .jpeg format with a resolution of 300 dots per inch. The poster should be 11x17 inches in size, and the logo 5x7 inches. No copyrighted material may be used without permission. The deadline for submission is March 16. The winning entry will be announced March 30. The winning entry becomes the property of the U.S. Air Force with appropriate credit given the artist.
