With the coming of the motorcycling season, Airmen are reminded that Air Combat Command requires ACC active-duty military and Department of Defense civilian motorcyclists to display a decal on their motorcycle showing they have completed the required riders safety courses.

The courses consist of either the Motorcycle Safety Program Basic Rider Course or the Experienced Riders Course. The information covered consists of: rider self-discipline, responsibility, personal risk management, standards of conduct, professional behavior and proper protective equipment requirements.

New motorcycle operators, or operators recently assigned to the 5th Bomb Wing, must also attend a one-on-one counseling session with their squadron commander before they are authorized to ride a motorcycle on any DoD installation.

After completing the required training and meeting with the commander, the member will be issued an ACC motorcycle trained decal ACC Form 15 by the 5th BW Safety Office. The decal is to be placed on the front-left fork side of the motorcycle. Non-ACC active-duty military or DoD civilian motorcyclists may receive the decal if the training has been completed; however, it is not mandatory for these individuals to get and display the decal.
