Retiree appreciation day at MAFB

MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. --  The 5th Bomb Wing and 91st Missile Wing are sponsoring the 2008 Retiree Appreciation Day Sept. 5 at Minot Air Force Base. This year's events are being held in conjunction with the Army and Air Force Exchange Service Customer Appreciation Day.
There will be speakers and an information fair starting at 1 p.m. at the Jimmy Doolittle Center here. Speakers will be discussing a variety of topics, including a health care update from the 5th Medical Group. Refreshments and food will be provided at the seminar.

There is no longer a requirement for base decals on vehicles; retirees may simply show their military identification card at the gate. While on the base, retirees are encouraged to stop by the Military Personnel Element on the third floor of the Pride Bldg., 300 Summit Drive, to update their ID card or Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System information.

Several specials are being offered as a show of our appreciation for our retirees and their families: 

· Rough Rider Lanes Bowling Center: Free bowling (Maximum of 3 free games and does not include league bowling)
· Rough Rider Golf Course: Call 723-3164 for tee time; $5.00 Green Fee (for 9 holes), $5.00 Golf Cart Rental (per seat for 9 holes), $5.00 Basket of Range Balls
· McAdoo Sports and Fitness Center: Free tour of the Fitness Center from 1000-1100.
· Arts & Crafts Center: Receive 25% off purchase on the retail floor
· Auto Hobby: One free car wash
· Jimmy Doolittle Center: ½ price lunch buffet
· Rough Riders Pizza: Buy one (1) pizza at regular price and get second pizza at ½ price (equal or lesser value on ½ price pizza). Buy one (1) sub at regular price and get the second sub at ½ price (equal or lesser value on ½ price sub).
· J.R. Rockers: ½ price lunch
· Outdoor Recreation: Free Night at FamCamp

A Retiree Scramble Golf Tournament is scheduled for Sept. 6 beginning at 9 a.m. at the Rough Rider Golf Course at Minot AFB. Teams will consist of retirees, active duty and spouses for a cost of $15 per person. Sign up by calling 701-723-6864.
