Breast cancer awareness events held at JDC

The 5th Medical Group will host the 4th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Event and Quilt Project at the Jimmy Doolittle Center here Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. 

Cost for the dinner of southern fried chicken and sliced barbecue beef brisket is $12 for club members and $15 for non-members. 

Dinner will be followed by guest speakers Heidi Heitkamp and Jennifer Boone. The finale will be the quilt auction; nearly 40 pieces are available for auction this year. All proceeds are donated to the Combined Federal Campaign for breast cancer research. RSVPs are required.

There will also be a health fair at the JDC from 3 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. held the same day, Oct. 23 with themed baskets will on display. 

Attendees may donate money to the Combined Federal Campaign for breast cancer research for a chance to win a basket. Any group or individual may donate a themed basket for this event. The baskets are displayed at the event and event attendees may donate money to the fundraiser for a chance to win a particular themed basket. Drawings for the baskets are held during the event.
