91st MW completes evaluation Published Nov. 12, 2008 By Senior Airman Cassandra Jones Minot Air Force Base Public Affairs MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- The 91st Missile Wing recently completed the first Twentieth Air Force Combat Capability Evaluation, which assessed the 91st Maintenance Group, 91st Security Forces Group, and 91st Operations Group. "Program evaluations were accomplished in all areas of wing operations," said Lt. Col. Phil Franklin, 91st MW chief of plans and inspections. "Every aspect of our combat capability was thoroughly reviewed. This was the most comprehensive inspection we've had in several years." The first of its kind, the 91st MW's CCE focused on technical proficiency and combat capability. Over a period of 10 days, chefs, facility managers, missile combat crews, pilots, as well as security forces and maintenance teams performed a series of grueling technical, training and evaluator proficiency evaluations. "The hard work and preparation by the men and women of the 91st Missile Wing were evident throughout the evaluation and recognized by the CCE team, who identified an unprecedented 188 Professional Performers and Professional Team Members," said Col. Chris Ayres, 91st MW commander. Overall, personnel from security forces, operations, and maintenance were evaluated performing their day-to-day mission in the missile field as well as in training environments to assess job performance/ skills. "From the day we arrived, it was clear the integration and communication between the two wings was superb and the positive relationship directly resulted in increased combat capabilities," said Lt. Col. Scott Fox, 20th AF director of nuclear surety and combat capability evaluation team chief. For the CCE, more technical proficiency evaluations were performed than in any other evaluation in recent history. "All three groups (91st MXG, 91st SFG and 91st OG) deserve kudos for their effort during this evaluation," Colonel Ayres said. "Our security forces members deserve additional congratulations as they've overcome significant obstacles in the past several months and absolutely wowed the CCE team."
