Winter weather housing reminders Published Nov. 12, 2008 Minot Air Force Base Housing Management MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- With winter weather already here, base housing residents are reminded to remove their vehicles from the street after a snowfall to permit unimpeded snow removal from base housing streets. Sidewalks must be clear of snow and ice. Boats, campers and trailers are not authorized in the base housing area during the winter season. Also, garden hoses should be detached from exterior hose bibs to prevent freeze damage to homes. To conserve energy, vehicle engine heaters will not be plugged into electrical outlets unless the ambient temperature drops to 0 degrees or below. Ice melt for sidewalks and driveways is available at the base self-help store. If a housing resident is leaving the local area for a trip, they should fill out a quarters watch form before leaving the area. Forms are available at the base housing management office and housing maintenance. For more information, contact the base housing office at 732-4660.
