November is Warrior Care Month Published Nov. 18, 2008 Minot Air Force Base Public Affairs MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- [Editor's note: The following is a message from Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Norton A. Schwartz.] The Department of Defense has dedicated November as Warrior Care Month. While we strive to keep the promise to our wounded warriors every day, I hope this month you'll reflect further on how we can best serve wounded service members and their families. As Airmen, we are honored to play an important role in caring for and transporting wounded warriors from the battlefield. The Nov/Dec issue of Airman Magazine is dedicated to the critical life-saving system of Airmen who rapidly and carefully move our wounded teammates to the care they need. The Air Force Wounded Warrior (AFW2) program was created in 2005 to ensure wounded Airmen get personalized care throughout their recovery. I hope you'll take a moment to learn more about this key initiative. Finally, please check out the Air Force Warrior Care Month page for additional links and coverage of this key AF Priority. Thanks for all you do in serving our nation and one another. Together we are committed to keeping this most sacred of promises - to leave no wounded warriors behind.
