Base residents show spirit with holiday lights contest

MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- Minot AFB recently announced the winners of the annual Holiday Lights Contest. All base housing residents were eligible to participate in the contest. Winners were judged on creativity and holiday spirit.

Below are the winners from this year's competition:

1st Place: Lt. Col. Michael Sweetland, 91st Operations Group -- $25 Darby Dollars and a $100 Savings Bond donated by the Minot Chapter, Air Force Association

2nd Place: Staff Sgt. Jacob Hawkins, 5th Munitions Squadron -- $20 Darby Dollars

3rd Place: Capt. James Olson, 91st Maintenance Operations Squadron -- $15 Darby Dollars

Honorable Mention: Senior Master Sgt. Gary Kruger, 5th Communications Squadron
