2009 Northern Neighbors Day logo/poster contest starts Published Jan. 23, 2009 Minot Air Force Base Public Affairs MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- Today marks the start of the bi-annual Northern Neighbors Day logo/poster contest. Northern Neighbors Day, the base's bi-annual open house and air show, is scheduled for July 18, 2009. This year's theme is a western inspired, "Warriors on the Prairie." The U. S. Army's premiere parachute demonstration team, the Golden Knights, will perform during this year's Northern Neighbors Day. All active duty and Reserve, Department of Defense civilians, and family members have the opportunity to be part of the event by designing the Northern Neighbors Day logo and event poster. All entries will be judged by a selected panel from the 5th Bomb Wing and 91st Missile Wing. The winning entry will be highlighted as the cover of the special air-show supplement, recognized at the start of the event and receive $25 Darby Dollars from the 5th Force Support Squadron. Both the poster and the logo must have the following information and elements represented: -- July 18, 2009 -- Northern Neighbors Day -- Minot Air Force Base -- Warriors on the Prairie Also, the poster must have the following additional elements: -- the Golden Knights -- B-52H Stratofortress -- Minuteman III Both the logo and the poster should be submitted in .jpeg format with a resolution of 300 dots per inch. The poster should be 11x17 inches in size, and the logo 5x7 inches. No copyrighted material may be used without permission. The deadline for submission is February 27. The winning entry will be announced March 6. The winning entry becomes the property of the U.S. Air Force with appropriate credit given the artist.
