More than $382 million was distributed from Minot AFB to the local area in the last fiscal year. The revenue comes in the form of increased jobs, construction/service contracts and other related expenditures. Visiting here and the presenter for the 2008 economic impact report was Lt. Col. Donald B Brewer, 5th Comptroller Squadron commander. Following the 15-minute presentation, Colonel Brewer said that the value of the base on the community is, "measured in more than just dollars." Guests at the luncheon were invited to take a courtesy copy (book-form) of the presentation with them. See the electronic version of the document here. The Military Affairs Committee cultivates relations between members of the community and base personnel, and promotes the communication and understanding of subjects that affect both parties.
