Base offers 'Click to Brick' program Published March 23, 2009 Army and Air Force Exchange Services MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- Minot AFB shoppers who prefer the ease and comfort of internet shopping but not the shipping costs associated with it can now take advantage of the Army & Air Force Exchange Service's (AAFES) "Click to Brick" program. A service that offers free shipping of select exchange online store orders to participating exchanges in the continental United States, "Click to Brick" allows convenient in-store access to various items, including some that aren't normally even available in the base exchange. More than 115 items are currently part of the "Click to Brick" program, with that number expected to approach 500 by year end. "We're bringing the internet to the exchange," said Mae Padgett, Minot Exchange General Manager. "Whether you're looking to save on shipping charges or don't want that surprise gift delivered to the house, 'Click to Brick' is a convenient, yet discreet online option." Authorized shoppers interested in taking advantage of this new, free service simply choose "Click to Brick" as the shipping address at checkout and then select the state and exchange where they would like to pick up the item. Shoppers will then be contacted by a base exchange customer service associate when their order arrives. Military exchanges have the dual mission of providing authorized patrons with articles of merchandise and services and of generating non-appropriated fund earnings as a supplemental source of funding for military Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) programs.
