Walk Minot Published April 28, 2010 Minot Air Force Base Public Affairs MINOT, N.D. -- Have you walked through Oak Park on a warm spring evening or the trail between Wee Links and Souris Valley Golf Course? Or how about the Arboretum walk in northwest Minot? Walking is heralded as the best, easiest and most affordable way to get our daily exercise. Minot has a wide variety of beautiful and safe areas to take that daily walk. Minot Area Team Wellness is planning a Walk Minot series of community walks this spring and summer. Walk Minot is designed to create awareness of Minot's trail system, promote physical activity and encourage citizens to get outside and enjoy our beautiful city! The series of Walk Minot events will be kicked off by the 2nd annual Doc Walk. The Doc Walk, sponsored by Dr. Dawn Mattern is planned for Wednesday, May 5, 7:00pm at Oak Park. The following 14 Thursdays will feature a community walk in a variety of places and will highlight the options walkers have within the city of Minot. Each weekly Walk Minot event will begin at 7:00 pm and be lead by a community leader. Walkers do not need to register ahead of time and there is no fee to join, just show up and walk with the group! Each walk will last about an hour, will be informal, family friendly and at an easy pace. A detailed schedule of each walk can be found HERE or at http://www.minot.af.mil/library/factsheets/factsheet.asp?id=16691.
