Minot Air Force Base Airman killed

An Airman was killed early this morning in an accident involving training materials during routine training.

The Airman, from the 17th Munitions Squadron was struck in the head while at work and died of injuries soon after.

"Our deepest condolences go out to the family and to the friends and co-workers," said Col. David Milner, 798th Munitions Maintenance Group commander. "We are very saddened by this loss."

An investigation into the incident has begun.

The Airman's name will be released after the family has been notified.
