5th MSG welcomes new commander Published June 29, 2010 Minot Air Force Base Public Affairs MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- Col. Douglas Cox, 5th Bomb Wing commander, passed the guidon to Col. Michael Dilda, as Colonel Dilda officially assumes command of the 5th Mission Support Group here June 14. As commander of the 5th MSG, Colonel Dilda is the senior leader and manager of support activities necessary to maintain the combat readiness of all units assigned to the base. Units assigned to the 5th MSG include the 5th Civil Engineer Squadron, 5th Communications Squadron, 5th Force Support Squadron, 5th Security Forces Squadron, 5th Logistics Readiness Squadron and 5th Contracting Squadron. Colonel Dilda and the 5th MSG directly support Air Force Global Strike's missionĀ of developing and providing combat-ready forces for nuclear deterrence and global strike operations -Safe -Secure -Effective to support the President of the United States and Combatant Commanders.
