The 2010 Minot AFB Combined Federal Campaign begins Sept. 27 and runs through Oct. 29.

This year Team Minot's campaign goal is $145,000. Last year, the goal for the base was $130,000 and the total amount raised was $187,779.

Every year the CFC represents an opportunity for Air Force Global Strike Command Airmen stationed at Minot AFB to give back to their communities.

Established in 1961, the CFC is the world's largest and most successful workplace charity campaign, with more than 300 CFC campaigns throughout the country and internationally.

"This annual fall fundraising drive allows nearly four million federal employees and service members to contribute to thousands of eligible local and national non-profit organizations," said Capt. Lucas Eby, CFC installation project officer. "Last year, Minot AFB personnel demonstrated their continued support for the Minot area by contributing $23,600 back into the local community."

In 2009, federal employees and service members donated a record-setting $282 million to the campaign. Since its inception in 1961, the federal community has donated more than $6.5 billion to the CFC.

Contributions can be made through squadron or group representatives in cash, check or by payroll deduction. Donors may designate which charity, or charities, receive their money by filling out a pledge form.

"This year's Minot AFB campaign theme is 'Giving the Gift of Hope'," the captain said. "In these difficult economic times, we can give hope to those struggling to survive or make ends meet."
