An idea for a digital camera Published Nov. 9, 2010 By Mark Kauer Minot AFB IDEA coordinator MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- The Minot AFB Innovative Development through Employee Awareness program office, is giving away a new Nikon Coolpix 12 mega pixel digital camera. The IDEA program is an Air Force-sponsored initiative that allows all Air Force Global Strike Command active members and appropriated fund civilian employees an opportunity to improve the business at Minot AFB and around the world is done. Besides cutting waste and finding better ways to accomplish the mission, an IDEA may reap a financial award for the submitter. Individuals meeting eligibility criteria for monetary awards will be recognized for their approved ideas with a cash award between $200 and $10,000 or non-monetary awards. A $10,000 award was recently awarded to an Airman here. To be eligible, an idea must be the submitter's own thought and it must be submitted with the intent of being beneficial to the government. It should outline a specific area of improvement, state a workable solution, and identify expected benefits and/or cost savings. It may be within or outside of the submitter's job responsibility. Anyone with access to a government computer may submit an idea; however, only active duty military and appropriated fund employees are eligible for cash awards. Every eligible idea submitted between Nov. 1 and Dec. 15 will garner one ticket in a drawing to be held on Dec. 16. To submit an idea and possibly win cash or prizes, log on to the IDEA Program Data System at https://ipds.randolph.af.mil to create a profile and make process improvement suggestions.
