New first sergeants earn diamond

Minot first sergeants successfully completed their training receiving their plaques and diamonds during the first sergeant induction ceremony here Dec. 3. First sergeants work with fellow senior noncommissioned officers and supervisory personnel to ensure discipline is equitably maintained, and the health, esprit de corps, discipline, mentoring and welfare of the enlisted force are met. They also work closely with the command chief master sergeant to ensure enlisted members understand and are prepared to execute the mission. First sergeants develop and execute specific goals, plans and objectives to address issues related to enlisted members. It is considered a high honor to be inducted into the first sergeant career field of the Air Force.
