Air Force Global Strike Command and Team Minot Airmen geared up for the holidays during the 91st Missile Wing's annual Holiday Hallway Party here Dec. 17.

The hallway party is an opportunity for all of the 91st MW units and their families to enjoy holiday cheer and share delicious food. Airmen and their families also get to visit other sections in the wing they may have never seen before.

"This event is great because it's a way for Airmen and their families to visit different parts of the building they normally wouldn't get to," said Capt. Erik Holmstrom, 740th Missile Squadron flight commander.

The winning section in this year's competition was the 91st Maintenance Group. This unit paid attention to detail while decorating its section. The section featured Santa's workshop, which included a sleeping room for elves, a stable and the jolly man himself, Santa Claus.

The wing mascot, Teddy Roosevelt, was also present during the competition, visiting the various sections while promoting unit morale.

The winning section won a travelling trophy as well as a certificate for a pizza party. Many Airmen and their families also won door prizes during the event raffle.

Aside from competing for the traveling trophy, this competition fostered teamwork and unity for many of the participating units, even those who do not work together on a daily basis.

"This event brought together members of the 5th Bomb Wing public affairs staff and the 91st MW staff," said Tech. Sgt. Joelle Silny, 91st MW Personnel Reliability Program noncommissioned officer in charge. "Normally it's each side doing their own thing. By doing this event together, it showed the tremendous support each is willing to provide to get the mission accomplished."
