Financial management services being consolidated Published Jan. 18, 2011 By Submitted Story MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- The Air Force Financial Management community is focused on continuously improving its service for Airmen to ensure their pay is processed accurately and on-time, and to better assist Airmen in Air Force Global Strike Command, many installation-level operations are being consolidated into the Air Force Financial Services Center at Ellsworth AFB, S.D. Among other responsibilities, the center will handle all active-duty military pay documents, non-defense travel system travel vouchers, all Air Force Reserve Command travel vouchers, and military permanent change of station vouchers as bases are transferred to the center. Minot AFB will migrate Jan. 27. After the migration, Airmen can ensure their documents are processed smoothly and quickly by ensuring the information submitted is accurate and complete. Right now, technicians at the center reject 10 to 15 percent of all submitted documents due to incorrect or missing information. These errors can significantly delay processing and payment. However, there are a few simple ways to help support a smooth transition and prevent any payment delays: · Use automated systems such as DTS, myPay and Leave Web whenever possible for transactions · Claim all reimbursable expenses and annotate proper modes of transportations · Have a complete set of orders when filing · Have the proper signatures on travel vouchers · Indicate the amount to be disbursed to the Government Travel Card · Resolve travel card issues through the agency program coordinator, rather than the local finance office · Write clearly and legibly so documents can be easily comprehended · Conduct a quality check before submitting the documents While the finance office at Minot AFB will continue to provide many financial service needs, Airmen are encouraged to make the virtual finance page on the Air Force portal the first stop for financial services. From the AF portal homepage, just select the "Life and Career" tab, then click on "Money - Welcome to virtual finance."
