MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. --  Nonjudicial punishment, also known as an Article 15 punishment, provides commanders with an essential and prompt means of maintaining good order and discipline and promotes positive behavior changes in servicemembers without the stigma of a court-martial conviction. Twelve Minot Airmen received an Article 15 during the month of February. Punishment is determined on a case by case basis.

1. An airman first class from the 5th Civil Engineering Squadron received a reduction in rank to airman basic for two violations of Article 112a, use of marijuana.

2. An airman first class from the 5th Civil Engineering Squadron received a reduction in rank to airman for violating Article 108, damage to government property and Article 128, assault.

3. A senior airman from 5th Communications Squadron received a reduction in rank to airman first class and a reprimand for violating Article 92, failure to obey a lawful order and Article 95, resisting apprehension.

4. A senior airman from 5th Force Support Squadron received a reduction in rank to airman first class and a reprimand for violating Article 111, driving while under the influence.

5. A master sergeant from the 5th Logistics Readiness Squadron received a suspended reduction in rank to technical sergeant and a reprimand for violating Article 134, unprofessional relationship.

6. An airman from the 5th Logistics Readiness Squadron received a reduction in rank to airman basic, 30 days of restriction, 30 days of extra duty and a reprimand for violating Article 112a, use of marijuana.

7. An airman from the 5th Logistics Readiness Squadron received a reduction in rank to airman basic, 15 days of restriction, 15 days of extra duty and a reprimand for violating Article 121, larceny.

8. A senior airman from the 5th Maintenance Squadron received a suspended reduction in rank to airman first class and 15 days of extra duty for violating Article 92, failure to obey a lawful order.

9. An airman first class from the 5th Munitions Squadron received 45 days of extra duty and a reprimand for violating Article 86, failure to go.

10. An airman from the 5th Munitions Squadron received a suspended reduction in rank to airman basic and a reprimand for violating Article 92, contributing to minors.

11. An airman first class from the 5th Security Forces Squadron received a reduction in rank to airman and a reprimand for violating Article 113, sleeping on post.

12. An airman first class from the 5th Security Forces Squadron received a reduction in rank to airman, forfeiture of $822.00 pay per month for 2 months and a reprimand for violating Article 111, driving under the influence.
