Memorial to be held for Airman

Senior Airman James Austin, a response force member of the 5th Security Forces Squadron, was involved in a fatal motorcycle accident in Stonington, Conn. May 22. Airman Austin was on leave in the Connecticut area.

The Airman's leadership expressed their condolences to the family members and friends that were affected by the tragedy.

"This was a tragic occurrence and we're all experiencing this sorrow together," said Lt. Col. Travis Harsha, 5th SFS commander. "We extend our deepest sympathy to all the family and friends whose lives Senior Airman James Austin touched. He honorably served his country and he will not be forgotten."

Airman Austin entered active duty in October 2007 and had been currently studying police science at the Community College of the Air Force.

A memorial service is scheduled to be held in honor of Airman Austin, at the Northern Lights Chapel here June 2 at 1 p.m.
