MAFB IS OFFERING EMERGENCY SHELTER TO DoD MEMBERS AFFECTED BY FLOOD Published June 21, 2011 5 BW/PA MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- In anticipation of the city of Minot flooding, Col. James Dawkins, Jr., 5th Bomb Wing commander, has activated the Emergency Family Assistance Control Center today and will remain in 24-hour operations until further notice. Department of Defense personnel and families affected by the current flood events can report to the E-FACC for emergency shelter, information, referral and support or call 723-4500 for flood related assistance. DoD personnel and their families are encouraged to use the on-base E-FACC to allow downtown agencies to assist other Minot community members. The E-FACC reception area will be at the Airman and Family Readiness Center. The E-FACC will also be a drop-off point for donations and volunteer information and support. Volunteers are needed to assist the E-FACC with reception, donation collections and information/referral and support for the current flood events. Volunteer hours are flexible and will be needed around the clock for 24-hour operations. Interested individuals can report to A&FRC or call 723-4500 for more information.
