June Articles 15 Published July 8, 2011 By Minot AFB Legal Office Minot AFB Legal Office MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- Nonjudicial punishment, also known as an Article 15 punishment, provides commanders with an essential and prompt means of maintaining good order and discipline and promotes positive behavior changes in servicemembers without the stigma of a court-martial conviction. In June 2011, the following Minot Air Force Base servicemembers were punished under Article 15 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice: RANK, UNIT, PUNISHMENT, OFFENSE 1. An airman first class from the 5th Logistics Readiness Squadron received a suspended reduction in rank to airman, forfeiture of $200.00 and a reprimand for violating Article 86, failure to go. 2. A senior airman from the 5th Security Forces Squadron received a reduction in rank to airman first class, 15 days extra duty and a reprimand for violating Article 113, sleeping on post. 3. A senior airman from the 5th SFS received a reduction in rank to airman first class, 15 days extra duty and a reprimand for violating Article 113, sleeping on post. 4. An airman first class from the 5th SFS received a suspended reduction in rank to airman and a reprimand for violating Article 92, dereliction of duty. 5. An airman first class from the 5th SFS had a previously suspended reduction in rank to airman which was vacated for violating Article 113, sleeping on post. 6. An airman first class from the 5th SFS received a suspended reduction in rank to airman and a reprimand for violating Article 92, dereliction of duty. 7. An airman first class from the 5th SFS received a reduction in rank to airman and a reprimand for violating Article 92, dereliction of duty. 8. An airman first class from the 5th SFS received a reduction in rank to airman and a reprimand for violating Article 113, sleeping on post. 9. An airman from the 5th SFS received a reduction in rank to airman and a reprimand for violating Article 113, sleeping on post. 10. An airman from the 5th SFS had a previously suspended reduction in rank to airman which was received for violating Article 86, failure to go and Article 92, failure to obey an order. 11. An airman basic from the 5th SFS received forfeiture of $733.00, 10 days extra duty and a reprimand for violating Article 92, minor in consumption. 12. An airman first class from the 5th Maintenance Squadron received a reduction in rank to airman basic and 20 days extra duty for violating Article 92, minor in consumption, and Article 112a, wrongful use of marijuana. 13. An airman first class from the 17th Munitions Squadron received a reduction in rank to airman basic suspended below airman, a suspended forfeiture of $733.00 for two months and a reprimand for violating Article 108, damage to military property, Article 121 larceny, and Article134, unlawful entry. 14. An airman first class from the 91st Missile Security Forces Squadron received a reduction in rank to airman basic suspended below airman, 15 days extra duty and a reprimand for two counts of violating Article 92, dereliction of duty, and Article 107, making a false official statement. 15. An airman first class from the 791st Missile Security Forces Squadron received a reduction in rank to airman basic, forfeiture of $200.00, and a reprimand for violating Article 92, minor in consumption, and Article 111, drunken operation of a vehicle.
