July Articles 15 Published Aug. 3, 2011 Base Legal Office MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- Nonjudicial punishment, also known as an Article 15 punishment, provides commanders with an essential and prompt means of maintaining good order and discipline and promotes positive behavior changes in servicemembers without the stigma of a court-martial conviction. In July 2011, the following Minot Air Force Base servicemembers were punished under Article 15 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice: RANK, UNIT, PUNISHMENT, OFFENSE 1. A senior airman from the 5th Security Forces Squadron received a reduction in rank to airman first class, forfeiture of $919.00 and a reprimand for violating Article 111, driving under the influence. 2. An airman first class from the 5th Security Forces Squadron received a suspended reduction in rank to airman, forfeiture of $250.00 and a reprimand for violating Article 92, minor in consumption. 3. An airman first class from the 5th Security Forces Squadron received a reduction in rank to airman for violating Article 92, dereliction of duty. 4. An airman from the 5th Security Forces Squadron received a reduction in rank to airman basic and a reprimand for violating Article 86, absent without leave. 5. A technical sergeant from the 17th Munitions Squadron received a reduction in rank to staff sergeant and a reprimand for violating Article 92, dereliction of duty and Article 107, signed a false official record. 6. A senior airman from the 17th Munitions Squadron received a suspended reduction in rank to airman first class, forfeiture of $376.00 pay per month for 2 months and a reprimand for two violations of Article 86, failure to go, Article 107, false official statement and Article 134, wrongful solicitation. 7. A senior airman from the 91st Missile Security Forces Squadron received a reduction in rank to airman first class, suspended forfeiture of $441.00 of pay, suspended restriction to Minot Air Force Base, N.D. for 14 days, 14 days extra duty and a reprimand for violating Article 111, driving under the influence.
