The 5th Civil Engineer Squadron was recently awarded numerous command-level awards for their expertise in providing highly trained engineers to build, maintain, and operate facilities, infrastructure systems and emergency assistance, among other services here.

The squadron was awarded a total of eight awards including individual and team recognitions.

Squadron leadership expressed their support for the continuation of the 5th CES's ingenuity, resourcefulness and dedication to the base.

"I'm very proud of this squadron," said Lt. Col Matthew Jefson, 5th CES commander. "We have been through the adversity of natural disasters while maintaining the base's mission and supporting deployments overseas. Yet the quality of work never suffered and the morale of the people never wavered. The awards the unit won simply highlights these amazing people."

Master Sgt. Harry Grambo, 5th CES heavy repair element chief, also attributed the squadron's success to the outstanding 'can do' professional craftsmanship of the men and women of the squadron and their desire to continue mission success.

"The men and women of the 5th CES prove their commitment daily by providing the outstanding services they do ranging from facility maintenance, housing management, energy savings, snow removal and the day to day operations of keeping Minot AFB running," said Grambo.

He added the awards also confirm the 5th CES's recognition as the premier civil engineering unit within Air Force Global Strike Command.
