Special courts-martial Published Feb. 24, 2012 By Base Legal Office Base Legal Office MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- As a result of a drug ring discovered by on-base law enforcement, seven courts-martial were convened here during the last three months. The drugs used by the Airmen included cocaine, ecstasy and spice. All seven courts resulted in convictions. U.S. vs Airman 1st Class Anne Oltesvig On Nov. 15, 2011, a special court-martial was convened to hear the case of the United States versus Airman 1st Class Anne M. Oltesvig, 5th Force Support Squadron. Oltesvig was charged with violating Article 112a of the Uniform Code of Military Justice for wrongfully using cocaine and ecstasy. Oltesvig was found guilty and was sentenced to a reduction to E-1, forfeiture of $978.00 of pay for one month, and three months of hard labor without confinement. U.S. vs Airman 1st Class Maxwell Brown On Nov. 16, 2011, a special court-martial was convened to hear the case of the United States versus Airman 1st Class Maxwell P. Brown, 5th FSS. Brown was charged with violating Article 92 and Article 134 of the UCMJ for wrongfully using, possessing and distributing spice and wrongfully possessing drug paraphernalia, a drug pipe. Brown was found guilty and was sentenced to confinement for four months, reduction to E-1, and forfeitures of $978.00 of pay for four months. U.S. vs Airman 1st Class Brittany Greene On Dec. 5, 2011, a special court-martial was convened to hear the case of the United States versus Airman 1st Class Brittany Greene, 5th FSS. Greene was charged with violating Article 112a of the UCMJ for wrongfully using cocaine and ecstasy. Greene was found guilty and was sentenced to confinement for three months, reduction to E-1, and forfeitures of $978.00 of pay for three months. U.S. vs Staff Sgt. Justin Bello On Dec. 12, 2011, a special court-martial was convened to hear the case of the United States versus Staff Sgt. Justin Bello, 5th FSS. Bello was charged with violating Article 92 and Article 134 of the UCMJ for using spice. Bello was found guilty of violating Article 92 of the UCMJ (use of spice after Jan. 3, 2011) and not guilty of Article 134 of the UCMJ (use of spice prior to Jan. 3, 2011). He was sentenced to confinement for 45 days, 45 days of hard labor without confinement, 45 days of restriction to Minot AFB, reduction to E-1, and forfeitures of $300.00 of pay for three months. U.S. vs Senior Airman Victoria Kemper On Jan. 4, 2012, a Special Court-Martial was convened to hear the case of the United States versus Senior Airman Victoria Kemper, 5th FSS. Kemper was charged with violating Article 112a of the UCMJ for wrongfully using cocaine. Kemper was found guilty and was sentenced to, 2 months hard labor without confinement, reduction to E-2, and forfeitures of $100.00 of pay for 6 months. U.S. vs Airman Basic Brooke Bissinger On Jan. 6, 2012, a special court-martial was convened to hear the case of United States versus Airman Basic Brooke Bissinger, 5th Force Support Squadron. Bissinger was charged with violating Article 112a of the UCMJ for wrongfully using and distributing cocaine, wrongfully using and distributing ecstasy, and with violating Article 134 of the UCMJ for wrongfully using spice. AB Bissinger was found guilty and was sentenced to confinement for four months, forfeitures of $994.00 of pay for four months, and a Bad Conduct Discharge. U.S. vs Airman 1st Class Roberto Lepez On Jan. 24, 2012, a special court-martial was convened to hear the case of the United States versus Airman 1st Class Roberto Lepez, 5th FSS. Lepez was charged with violating Article 112a of the UCMJ for wrongfully using cocaine, violating Article 128 of the UCMJ for unlawfully grabbing and pushing another Airman; violating Article 134 of the UCMJ for engaging in disorderly conduct; and violating Article 92 of the UCMJ for using spice. Lepez was found guilty and was sentenced to four months confinement, two months hard labor without confinement, reduction to E-1, and forfeitures of $994.00 of pay for four months.
