A total of $64,302 has been donated here at Minot Air Force Base. This year's fundraising goal is $88,265. Of the four designated charities that comprise the AFAF, one is the Air Force Village, which is dedicated to offering quality retirement living, as emphasized by their mission statement. Air Force Village is a modern military retirement community in San Antonio, Texas, that is home to retired and honorably separated officers from the Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, Air and Army National Guard and Reserves, their spouses, widows, widowers, parents and grandparents. There are currently two retirement communities the Air Force Village manages. The communities serve approximately 1,200 residents. Air Force Village communities have various facilities and services that include assisted living care, independent living, 65 social events each month, a new standard in skilled nursing and rehabilitation, home health and Alzheimer's and dementia care. Having established its first community in 1970, the Air Force Village earned national distinction in 1987 as the first military retirement community to be accredited by the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission.
