It's that time of the year again. Road conditions can change in a matter of minutes here in Minot, N.D. It's important to be aware of what each of the road condition colors mean and what actions to take when the weather takes a turn for the worse.

Please see below information concerning the Road Condition levels.

Travel and Road Conditions - The installation commander or designee will determine when road conditions will be changed based upon information received for the INSTALLATION and the portion of Highway 83 between the base and Minot city limits. Designated 91st MW representatives will determine when road conditions will be changed within the missile fields.

Green - describes normal day-to-day travel conditions.

Yellow - describes a degraded environment when CAUTIOUS travel and working conditions exist.

Red - describes a degraded environment when HAZARDOUS travel and working conditions exist.

Black - describes a degraded environment when NO TRAVEL or working conditions exist, except for storm-essential personnel and bona fide emergencies.

Again, we do our best to ensure we get the information to Minot AFB's service members and families. Below are the main avenues to get the most up to date Road Condition information.

- Our official Minot AFB Social Media outlets (i.e. Facebook & Twitter) will have the most up to speed, PA road conditions, school closures, etc. notifications.

- 723-1190 is the PA Hotline Number that will have information on closures, road conditions, etc.

- 723-1111 for conditions on missile complex roads, call the 91st Security Support Squadron Traffic Control Center.

- During duty hours, please feel free to call the PA main line at 723-6212 for any information.

As we get our information from Command Post, the most speedy and updated information will come from the AFGSC Emergency Notification System - so check your email whenever possible!
