Congratulations to Team Minot's Air Force Global Strike Command 2012 Safety Award Winners and Air Force Safety Award nominees. Col. Rey R. Ermitaño, AFGSC Director of Safety, said the selection of these awards and nominations is a testament to the high degree of personal commitment to safety displayed by each of these individuals, teams and their leadership.

The following are Minot Air Force Base's 2012 AFGSC Safety Award Winners:

1. AFGSC Human Factors Safety Excellence Award: 5th Medical Group, Aerospace & Operational Physiology Team
2. AFGSC Award of Distinction for Ground Safety: Tech. Sgt. Christopher R. Lawrence, 791st Missile Security Forces Squadron
3. AFGSC Crew Safety Award of Distinction: 5th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron/MXAAA

The following are the nominees for the 2012 Air Force Safety Awards. These individuals and teams will represent AFGSC at the Air Force-level competition:

1. Air Force Safety Career Professional of the Year Award: Tech. Sgt. Rhonda Armstrong-Penney, 5th Bomb Wing Safety
2. Air Force Chief of Safety Outstanding Achievement Award for Weapons Safety: Tech. Sgt. Bryan Schepp, 5th Bomb Wing Safety
3. Air Force Chief of Safety Outstanding Achievement Award for Ground Safety, CAT 3: Mr. Joseph Pape, 91st Missile Wing Safety
4. Air Force Chief of Safety Aviation Safety Maintenance Award: Senior Master Sgt. Michael Moser, 5th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron
5. Aviation Well Done Award: CHILL 24, {Capt. Bryant Harrison(Aircraft Commander), Capt. Michael Sydney (Co-Pilot), Maj. David Lane (instructor pilot), Capt. David Skelonc (Radar Navigator), Capt. Brenna Dicks (Navigator), Capt. Alex Brewster (Electronic Warfare Officer) - 23rd Bomb Squadron
6. Ground/Weapons Safety Well Done Award: Senior Airman Broc Wilson and Airman 1st Class Christopher Tolch, 5th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron
