MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, N.D. -- The Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems section consists of 10 personnel responsible for maintaining $18.5 million in vital airfield systems and radar equipment. They ensure accurate and reliable air traffic control communications coverage of 126,000 square miles for 25,000 military and commercial flights annually. They perform maintenance to the National Weather Service's Next-Generation Radar, which provides weather radar data to North Dakota and eastern Minnesota. They also support ground radio and radar systems for the 5th Bomb Wing, 91st Missile Wing, Minot International Airport and the remote Radar Approach Control located at Ellsworth AFB, S.D.
